Kids & Youth Programming at Rising Phoenix GameCon

Join us at Rising Phoenix GameCon for a weekend (and a special day) that’s not just for grown-up gamers — it’s for young imaginations, big dreams, and tomorrow’s heroes.

At Rising Phoenix, we’re more than just a tabletop and role-playing convention — we’re building a space for young gamers to explore, learn, and belong. Whether your child is new to gaming or already on their way to being a tabletop legend, we’ve got something for them.

This is our fourth year sponsoring our Fledgling Program. You can read all about that here and go here to sponsor or nominate a youth group, school gaming club, or after-school group.

Why Bring Your Kids to Rising Phoenix?

  • Safe & Welcoming Environment: Our community is warm, inclusive, and experienced in welcoming first-time convention goers, regardless of age.
  • Dedicated Day for Young Gamers: While we have activities such as Board Games & RPGs for our younger gamers each day of the con in our main floor areas we specifically invite groups of young role-players to come on Friday to enjoy a multi-table game designed particularly for ages 13-18 (Game for Youth), as well as a special all-day adventure for our 7-14 con goers. (Story School’s Hook’s Revenge)
  • All-Ages Gaming Opportunities: From board games taught by friendly pros to youth-friendly role-playing tables, there’s something for beginners and experienced players alike.
  • Meet GMs, Vendors & Fellow Players: Young gamers get to meet supportive Game Masters, chat with vendors, and form new friendships.
  • Opportunities to use gaming as a teaching tool. Learn teamwork, social skills, creative vision, confidence, problem problem-solving. The list goes on and on.

Friday event for Youth 13-18

The Game For All Youth

Every year, we run a game on Friday for All Youth ages 13-18 and tie it to the Fledgling Groups that are with us under sponsorship. A massive multi-table, multi-GM game goes off with dozens of Youth playing and ends with a huge boss fight for all involved. These have been the highlight of many of our Fledgling groups over the years, and we anticipate they will continue to be. An amazing opportunity for youth to form friendships that could last through their lives. All Youth, ages 13-18, at the convention are invited to join in this event Friday, 1-5 pm.
