Rising Phoenix GameCon is proud to announce as our Artist of the Year, Chet Minton of Long Hare Studios

Chet Minton is a classically trained artist with more than 25 years of experience in the printing and publishing industry, working fluently across both traditional and digital media. He currently serves as Art Director for the Philadelphia Area Game Expo and as Art Director and Co-Owner of Orange
Cat Games.

For over fifteen years, Chet has been an accomplished freelance artist, designer, and cartographer in the tabletop roleplaying community. His award-winning illustrations have appeared in a wide range of publications, including tabletop roleplaying game books and modules, fantasy fiction covers, interior art, and comic book anthologies.

Renowned for a distinctive visual style that moves effortlessly between atmospheric realism and playful whimsy, Chet brings imagination, depth, and
versatility to every project. His work is particularly recognized in the realms of fantasy and science fiction, where his talent for visual world-building shines. When not at the drawing table, Chet works under the vigilant supervision of his three feline studio managers, who graciously permit him to share their space in exchange for consistent meals and attention.

On a personal note from Scott…
Chet has been a fixture at Rising Phoenix GameCon for 4 years, and over that time has become a close personal friend. Chet is a consummate professional, works tirelessly, and is one of the most prolific artists today in the world of Gaming. When I came to him this year with my crazy idea to write and run an old school style Tournament module at the con, although he was working on 4 projects, his comment was “What can I do to help?”
His ability to take a description of a vision and put that down in art form is incredible. His work for this year’s Con art and for the Upcoming Module is stunning. (As a bonus, he’s going to GM one of the Tournament Tables!) Take some time at the Con to stop by his booth and say hi. He is easy to talk to, and you will want to take home a beautiful piece of his world.
